Overview
The Traverse is a three-row SUV that comfortably seats up to eight, thanks to innovative split-folding second-row seats. Jam-packed with the latest technology and safety features, the Traverse comes equipped with a built-in 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot and a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™. The Traverse is also equipped with several safety features, including a standard rear-vision camera, available Front Automatic Braking with Intelligent Brake Assist, OnStar® feature suite, 10 airbags, and more. With seven different trim levels (as well as available AWD), the Traverse delivers impressive value and incredible variety at a starting price of only $29,800.*
The Perfect Ride for…
Anyone that needs to haul a lot of gear, a lot of passengers, or both on a regular basis. With an EPA-estimated 27 highway mpg and 18 city mpg,** the Traverse offers impressive fuel efficiency for its size and towing capacity (up to 6,160 lbs). Don't let all that utility fool you; this ride is still as comfortable as ever, thanks to an elevated driving position and clear sightline, not to mention its accommodating seats.
Drive & Handling
By default, the 2021 Traverse comes equipped with a 3.6-liter V6, now good for 310 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque, thanks to a few performance upgrades. The 2021 model also sports a nine-speed automatic transmission.
You wouldn’t think a big SUV would be especially fuel-efficient, but in addition to providing plenty of power and four-wheel traction, the Traverse surprises with EPA-rated gas mileage of 21 mpg combined (18 mpg city, 27 mpg highway) with front-wheel drive and 20 mpg combined (17 mpg city, 25 mpg highway) with all-wheel drive.**
Thanks to a powerful set of brakes, a well-tuned suspension, and a perfectly calibrated start/stop system, the 2021 Traverse is a joy to drive no matter where your adventures take you. Unlike some larger vehicles, it doesn't feel ponderous in the turns, which will be welcome when carrying full loads (so feel free to take advantage of that incredible cargo capacity).
Key Features
Chevrolet MyLink®
The Traverse is built to serve the needs of busy drivers on the go, starting with the latest version of Chevy’s intuitive infotainment system: Chevrolet MyLink®, which includes Apple CarPlay™, Android Auto™, and Bluetooth® integration, so you can pair your device and access select apps directly through the 7-inch touchscreen display. There’s also a USB port and an awesome audio system with auxiliary jack, so you can bring your music library with you.
Chevrolet Teen Driver
When (and if) you choose to let your younger drivers borrow your vehicle, this standard feature allows you to encourage safe driving, tracking vehicle maximum speed, distance driven, and more to encourage safe driving behavior. Not only can you choose to limit certain vehicle features and prevent others from being turned off, it can even give you an in-vehicle report on how your truck was driven.
Alternative Options
Those on the lookout for a smaller SUV should consider the Equinox. A modern SUV for an ever-evolving world, the Equinox shines thanks to a unique combination of style, versatility, and available active safety technologies. Need a full-sized pickup truck? Check out the Silverado. Thanks to its impressive capability and toughness, not to mention a series of powerful yet efficient engines, there's almost nothing the Silverado can't handle.
