Overview
The 2023 Bolt EV represents Chevrolet’s two-pronged approach to electric vehicles. Along with the larger Bolt EUV, the compact Bolt EV combines athletic styling and smart packaging with advanced technology and plenty of creature comforts and upscale touches to go around. The 2023 Bolt EV’s impressive range and rapid charging capabilities will also put worries about range anxiety to rest. Not only does the Bolt EV feature a thoroughly redesigned exterior with fresh front and rear styling, but the interior also gets the same level of attention. The standard 1LT trim showers buyers with goodies like wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. The top-ranging 2LT adds leather seats and an 8-way power driver’s seat, among many other features.
The Perfect Ride For…
The eco-conscious commuter. With an estimated 259-mile range on a single, full charge, the 2023 Bolt EV handles the ordinary work commute and weekend getaways with ease. The Bolt EV’s compact size also hides a spacious interior with plenty of room for five passengers and ample space for whatever you need to bring along for the ride. The revamped styling is fresh and futuristic, highlighting the Bolt EV’s mission as a practical electric car for the masses.
Drive and Handling
Powering the 2023 Chevrolet Bolt EV is a single electric motor that puts out 200 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque, which in turn gets its energy from a 65-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack. The end result is a drivetrain that offers over 250 miles of estimated gas-free driving under ideal conditions. Drivers can add up to 100 miles of range in as little as 30 minutes using the Bolt EV’s standard DC fast charging capability. The active thermal management system employs coolant to keep the electric SUV’s batteries within operating temperatures, resulting in longer service life and improved reliability.
Regen on Demand makes one-pedal driving possible by using the Bolt EV’s regenerative braking capabilities to slow the vehicle and maximize its driving range at the same time. The system can also be activated by using the dedicated paddle on the back of the sporty 3-spoke steering wheel. Drivers can also keep tabs on vehicle range and a whole host of other driving statistics via the 8-inch touchscreen display and the full-color Driver Information Center.
Key Features
Chevy Safety Assist
The Chevy Safety Assist suite brings the latest in advanced safety and driver assist features to the 2023 Bolt EV. These features include Forward Collision Alert, Automatic Emergency Braking, and Front Pedestrian Braking – three features designed to help warn drivers of impending collisions and automatically assist in preventing or mitigating them. Other Chevy Safety Assist features include a following distance indicator, lane keeping assist with lane departure warning, and an automatic high beam assist feature to avoid blinding oncoming drivers while maintaining optimal nighttime visibility.
Dual Level Charge Cord
The 2023 Bolt EV’s available dual-level charge cord simplifies home and public charging by combining Level 1 and Level 2 charging capabilities into a single cord. The versatile charge cord lets you switch between plugs for a standard 120-volt 3-prong outlet and a 240-volt outlet. With its 7.2-kilowatt charging capability, the Dual Level Charge Cord lets you enjoy Level 2 charging without the need for a separate home charger, although you’ll need one to achieve the Bolt EV’s maximum 11-kilowatt charging speed.
