The Chevrolet Silverado 1500 High Desert SEMA Show Vehicle Makes a Great Thing Better
Here at Heritage Chevrolet Buick Owings Mills, we always get excited when the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show rolls around. It's an opportunity to check out some of the most exciting and innovative specialty automotive products--plus, automakers like to go all out with some incredible vehicles. Chevrolet is no exception to this rule, and this year, the brand brought out the big guns: the Silverado 1500 High Desert SEMA Show vehicle (pictured above).
More than the basic package
Based on the High Desert package currently available on 2017 Silverado 1500 LT, LTZ, and High Country models, the SEMA Show version adds a few stylistic and performance-related enhancements, including an illuminated black bowtie grille emblem, all-weather floor liners, a performance brake kit, and performance exhaust kit. Keep in mind that the basic package already includes a lockable and water-resistant cargo system, as well as an available Magnetic Ride Control suspension, and it's easy to see why we're so excited about the SEMA Show version.
The Magnetic Ride Control suspension is particularly exciting, as the High Desert model is the first Silverado in which it's been available. Used to increase performance and agility, the system uses sensors to read the road and replaces conventional mechanical-valve shocks with electronically controlled ones, to better react to rough roads quickly. (In as little as 5 milliseconds, in fact.)
Other reasons to love the SEMA model
Inside the High Desert SEMA model, you'll find an attractive interior, complete with brown accent stitching, embroidered headrests, and Cocoa leather seat inserts. Other enjoyable features include heated and vented front seats, wireless charging, a Bose® audio system, and an 8-inch touchscreen with Chevrolet MyLink® and navigation.
The new High Desert package blends the capability and utility of Silverado with even greater refinement. It’s ideal for those customers who want the security of a lockable cargo area as well as the flexibility of a pickup truck bed.
